This is a Hickory and Walnut Sewing Box I made for my Grandfather to give to his special lady. It was made from part of a Hickory tree that fell on his house a while back. It was finished with 3 coats of Tung Oil Varnish.

A nice piece made even more special by the story behind the wood. Looks like a winner!

Great little box. You have a good eye for style and proportion. Keep it up!

Thank you all for your kind words..I truly appreciate it. I am sorry it has taken so long to reply. as I said in an earlier comment on another project.. between facebook, youtube, and google plus.. I hadnt made it back here in a while.. If you would like to see a few little videos on this project how the origional design failed due to the knife hinges and the conclusion which brought it all together..I posted a blog on here with a couple of short videos…

Thank you again. !!!!
