Dad is a bit of a book collector. I’m convinced the Library of Congress calls him when they run low. He’s already overtaken my old bedroom with cheep store bought bookshelves. The shelves sag. All of the electrical outlets in the room are blocked. The door to the room won’t open all the way (a bookshelf is in the way). The shelves don’t go all they way to the ceiling so storage is not as good as it could be. I drew up some plans & completed the first section of 3 bookshelves for Christmas this year. I’ll post the rest as they are completed. I used oak plywood from THD. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked & looked. I used the Kreg Jig for all of the joinery.

Wow, beautifull design and craftmanship. Did you do your plans in SketchUp? Keep up the great work.

That should be a wonderful library when you’re finished! You’ve got a great start. Don’t forget the library table and easy chair when you finish the shelves! Thanks for sharing.
