This started when a neighbor gave me an old grey work table on wheels they were getting rid of. I started by removing the plywood top and changing the color of the base to white. After removing the dolly wheels, I added the thin strips of multicolored woods on the bottom shelf.

The top, as you can see in the ‘in progress’ photo, is made from those wood strips/posts you see around lumber yards or home depot. They were laid side by side and attached one to the next, then sanded down a bit. The ends of the top I covered up with 2 strips of metal that I painted black and bolted in.

The finish is black paint wash on the top. Then top and bottom finished with raw linseed oil.

Still looking for some retro 4” steel caster wheels which would make it a few inches higher.
