I like to scratch build all my trucks and tractors, BUT, different times warrant different tactics. Made from Cherry and Walnut of different boards. The tracks are quite time consuming, but the over all project was a fun build. 360 degree rotation. all arms move. Tracks turn surprisingly easily. I have shifted gears, no pun intended, from Wagons to Construction equipment for awhile. With limited tooling and resources in Afghanistan I think I can make this idea work well for my needs. Most of us have heard of Toys and Joys plans They may well be the benchmark of toy plan suppliers. With these I can look over my needs and rough out pieces I know I cannot make in Kabul and make them home while on R&R. Then USPS flat rate the pieces to my APO for finish.

Great looking excavator. That’s my next project. Hope mine looks half as good as yours. Thanks for posting.

I spent 40 years running them and always enjoyed seeing a new model come onto the job site. Very nice work . I have a saying that I made up. It’s not what you acheive It’s what you leave. Make sure you sign your work. and pass it on . You let me hear the Big Cats fire up one more time. Thanks I can’t say enough. Lester Tee
