Here are some items I recently completed. One is a tall necklace holder made from cedar. My wife wanted something to keep her chains from becoming entangled. Apparently she did not find my comment that she had too much jewelry amusing.

The short, light colored one is a prototype I made of pine. I think this will work well for my stepdaughter.s bracelets and earrings.

The other item is a spice rack I made for my stepdaughter. I based the design on one I found in Better Homes and Garden (I think). I adapted it to fit the material I had available. I used cedar for a couple of reasons. First, I love the appearance of cedar. Second, the wood I used had belonged to my stepdaughter’s father before he passed away.

I used spray on poly for the finish. The finish remained tackly longer than I anticipated. It also seemed to be a magnet for dust and particles. Tomorrow I will touch it up with a little wipe on poly.
