Calendar frame from a design by the Wood Whisperer, Marc Spagnuolo that I made for my wife for Christmas. I made it from curly maple. Great beginners project, and he has a step by step video (part 1 and part 2!).
I finished it with minwax tung oil. It was my first attempt at using it. I put it on, thought it was a big mistake, waited for a day, and changed my mind. It’s beautiful and really makes the grain pop out.
The calendar in the picture is too small. It’s the one I got from my Congressman, Hank Johnson last year, and the one I was giving to my wife is already wrapped.
The beer is well deserved. It is the Christmas Ale from Anchor Brewing. http://www.anchorbrewing.com/beer/christmas_ale
Merry Everything to one and all.

I made the same frame yesterday. It was to be a prototype for the real one. Mine needed to be 1/4” wider to make it easy to remove and replace the calendar properly. I must say that it was entertaining to make. I’ll try for the real one tomorrow and correct my mistakes. Happy New Year to you.
