we delivered another custom dining room last week to clients in massachusetts. this table is a new variation on our empire era influenced pedestal based dining and console tables. people love the form and we find it fun to play around with proportions and different materials. the original inspiration came from an antique console table i repaired for a dealer friend … he had no idea what he was getting me into … you can see several variations on the console table form here ... and some dining table variations in this section of my website. we enjoy doing variations on a theme and this latest one was a nice new take on it. the bookmatched burl inlays were arranged from shop sawn veneers and the chairs were a related adaptation of one of our standard designs … for more info on this project, there are more pictures and a long post on my dorset custom furniture blog ... happy holidays ! ... dan

That is one sharp looking table. And the chairs are exquisite.
