I got the plans for this out of a recent Wood magazine. (an excellent magazine, very practical, and good designs!) This was my first scroll saw project, and I learned a lot, mostly that I have a lot to learn still! :) It was really hard to make the tight puzzle cuts. I felt like all of the dinosaurs are so wobbly now. But I don’t know how to cut any tighter. It was also incredibly hard to sand all those little edges!
This is for my little nephew, so I put a linseed oil finish on it.

I am fairly new to woodworking too but I can tell you that with the right blades and good quality blades your puzzles will improve and the cut edges really won’t need sanding but for a few fuzzies here and there. I like what you’ve done! Keep up the good work….your nephew will love it!!

I also saw this in the Wood magazine. I haven’t attempted yet because I was afraid my scroll saw skills were up to par. What kind of blade did you use and if you change blades can you get tighter cuts and curves? Thanks for sharing I think it looks good!
