Small Box with a clever opening/closing mechanism, made from a pretty piece of mahogany scrap and a little piece of poplar. The idea and overall design came from Roy Underhill’s show, where he made this tiny (smaller than mine) box for tallow. My partner was complaining about never receiving any woodworking gifts, and this was a nice little afternoon project…
Next time I make one of these I will be a bit more brave and hollow out a bigger recess for the box itself.

I really liked that episode as well. Really like your repurpose of the grease box. I’ve always wanted to make one and your’s turned out great! Nice work!!
