This was my best project to date …not only did i learn new things about box building but also made a good friend in the process (esp about glass ;) ) The case is made with birdseye maple .The skirt is made with amboyna burl and ebony feet.
The button was made with the cut off from the skirt . The keys (notes) made from ebony also. The music boards (sound board base) made with mahogany as is the inside casing . The glass slides open to get to the note …the slots are lined with felt to eliminate the glass from vibrating .
