Hi friends

It’s been a long time since I posted a project. I’m pleased to get this Morris chair completed and posted. This project is a chair that my daughter (daughter-in-law) requested when she found that she was expecting her first baby. This was a few months ago and she was looking forward to a special, handmade chair that she could rock her baby in. The baby was due on November 11th and I completed the chair on the 10th! Only problem was that our little grandson was born two weeks early. We are so blessed with six grandchildren and two of them born this year and only a couple months apart. This most recent grandson, who precipitated the building of this rocking chair is Joe’s son, my son, who had the appendix problem last year, and my other grandson who was born two months ago, is my eldest son’s and his wonderful wife’s newest child. This Morris rocking chair is my version of a Morris, so it’s not dead-on accurate as an authentic reproduction. This was built to my sweet daughters specifications. My wife and I get the pleasure of delivering the chair tomorrow. I love to make furniture for the ones I love.

Great to build something for the family, it is really nice and looks like a lot of hard work. Now you have tow more woodworks to train in the future

Congrats Jim and a job well done on the rocker. Do the two new additions live close enough to enjoy each others company (and yours) as they grow? That would be a double bonanza.

Hey Beth
The closest grandson lives about an hour away but the other little guys is 1000 miles away,I wish they could be close buddies but it’s not in the cards right now.
