It started when my son Nate; who is 22; said; “Dad you need a bigger shot glass rack, you have more sitting on the bar then you do in the rack you have now. So I started in and before you know it, I figured out that I had one heck of a glue up staring at me. But then it came to me…half laps..from than on it was a piece of cake..well kind of!
I had some long skinny pieces left from ripping down and resawing the pieces for the rack when I remember seeing a plan for a mirror in an Wood magazine. My son came over helped me hang things up in my bar; “The Bunker” and before I new it, he had ran away with my smaller shot glass rack and was going to start his own collection.
I think that both projects turned out pretty well and make a nice addition to my bar area. Now I have to do something with that ugly white cabinet that sits behind the bar. Any Ideas?
Thanks for taking a look!

That is a real nice rack, but I think you should start to build another. I collect shot glasses too and those things multiply like rabbits when you travel. I had to build an enclosed cabinet with 5 glass shelves to display mine and I still can nudge in a new one or two.
Great build. Thanks for sharing….............Jim

nice build! I need to make one of these. My parents love to travel, and when i was younger and living at home I had the great opportunity to travel with them! I started collecting shot glasses in each place that we went to. I have a shot glass from almost every U.S. state, and from a few different countries as well!

I count about 90 glasses. Tell your son to invite that many people over for the party, and maybe they’ll demo the white cabinet for you.

Well done Steve. Would not mind “bellying” up to that bar. As always your projects seem to be a cut above.

That is a really nice bar & a really great project. Your son was “genius” in stealing the old project. For the white cabinets…. I’d say to either change them to glass cabinets for beer glasses or start a 2nd shot glass keepsake. Or throw a fancy TV in there…. Or just keep it like it is. I think its great as is. Great project. Thanks for sharing.
