Box for keepsakes

I had a board that caught my eye about 5 years ago, so I bought it. It sat in my woodpile until about June, when I found it again. I started to just make a box to hold some tools. After thinking about the whole build in steps, I decided to finish the board before cutting it. I cut box joints in the 4 sides, grooved the bottom, glued it up, matched a board for the top, hinged the lid, and sat back to look at it. Then I decided to go all out and make it into a jewelry box for my daughter. So I added carpet like fabric, lift out tray, a cat head framed mirror, and ribbon lid stays. (somewhere in the build I added a half mortice lock) and rare earth magnets for lid hold. To keep her from misplacing the key, I added gold chain and a tassel to it. This was one of the first projects that I took a lot of time kicking ideas around, before really getting going. Now the problem…she doesn’t have a table to put it on…next build… thanks for looking.
