I wanted to try something with mitered splines and actual mitered corners (I had never done that before). So, I cut and glued this up out of some regular clear Pine and made the splines from mahogany scrap from the scrap box. It’s overly simple but this box was an exercise and experiment that has led to some cooler projects since then. It is finished with a coat of Waterlox and then some spray lacquer.
