Not too much to say about these, they are my second set of cornhole boards. This set is made from 1x premium furring strips and Arauco project plywood from lowes. The frames were joined with pocket hole joinery and then the plywood tops were nailed to the frames. I stained them with Minwax “Golden Oak” stain then used some water based poly on them.

They aren’t fin woodworking by any means but are pretty nice for a redneck game.

The Arauco plywood at lowes is much better than the construction plywood I used on my first set.

that is a fun game. I have made a few sets myself. the hardest part is getting someone to sew up the bags. my wife does not sew. I coerced my neighbor to do a couple for me and a lady at work did one set. what happened to the domestic skills ALL women used to possess?

Nice corn holes….. (never thought I’d be saying that).... The family has been on me about making these and I was wondering if there is a standard on how smooth the top should. There would be a big different between one sanded smooth with a few coats of poly compared to one that has some texture on it (something like dry wall compound applied with a deep nap roller and then painted).

I will tell you I purposely made mine not too smooth because the bags slide off pretty easy anyway. I just sanded the plywood to 120 with my random orbital sander and put several coats of water based poly on. I used satin finish and did buff it a little with a blue scotch brite pad (non stick cookware type).

”Another corn hole set. Not too much to say about these.” Well I have got to take a trip to Google land because I can only imagine what kind of ”redneck game” this is. I am probably the only one who does not know what this is about. The woodworking does look nice….............
