Here are a few projects that I did over the weekend

Bowl is walnut no finish on it currently just your basic bowl 6” diameter by 2 1/4 deep

Small lidded project is S. American Mahogany with a maple top finial is poplar finished with a sharpie to mimic ebony, finished with a couple coats of Deft laquer.

Large lidded project is Sycamore from my moms back yard with the same process as above for the finial (economic ebony) finish is just a coat of paste wax buffed out on the lathe.

Thank you for looking and as always comments good or bad are welcome.

Nicely done sir ! I particularly like the idea of the “economic” ebony. Clever and resourceful ! and you ended with 3 very impressive pieces ! Feels good , doesn’t it !
