A friend wanted to a see a picture of a candle holder I made. So I had my wife take a picture for me. So before you ask, yes that is my hand! haha I made the candle holder on the wood lathe. The wood I was told is actually bradford pear. It seems to be a really good wood to work with. After it is seasoned for a couple weeks. I turn it down and wax it. The wax is to keep the wood solid and to keep from cracking. After a couple days, I buff the wax down and it’s ready to add the candle.

Congratulations on a fine early turning effort. Bradford pear is a new one to me. It looks good from here but I wonder if the guy standing beside it is wondering why there’s a giant holding a candle holder in his house!
