Another batch of little chubbies, these are from last weekend. This is some for a good friend of ours Grandchildren, who are visiting from Mexico this weekend. The race cars came out pretty cute, I think. I have had that idea bouncing around in my head for a bit now, so it’s fun to see it done. I want to make a batch of them as a play set for some Christmas ideas. And the pick-up was too plain, so my lovely wife says “why not just paint some flames on it”. As if this is an easy task, lol. I’ve never done flames, but I think they turned out okay. If I do them again, I’ll for sure paint the whole front white where the flames will go. It was very hard to get the yellow over that red. Live and learn (even though I’ve learned that one before, lol)..... so maybe I should learn patience. I admit to a little pressure to get them done last week to have them in time. But, eh, who doesn’t fall into that now and then.

Anyway, hope you all enjoy! Can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

Who are you kidding? the flames are fabulous? Great headlights too. Nice to see a domestic car manufacturer doing well!

Those are some great toys!
I probably missed it, but what kind of finish do you use?
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you all for the kind words. :)

Marter, I use delta ceramcoat acrylic paints. The same stuff that I believe is used in tole painting, and similar crafts. They are cheap, are in small bottles and are easy to store away in a drawer when not in use. (Which isn’t all too often for me, lately). Anyway, that’s what I used on these. I also use latex house paint at times. I’m very interested now that hd has started to sell sample tubs that are small. Quart cans take up a TON of shelf space.

These are awesome as always! you do such a great job painting the cars. I tend to get sick of the project and rush that step on the cars that I make. Do you buy your wheels in bulk?
