While making a walnut table for my good friend (and he is a good friend in every sense) those scraps of walnut and some other scraps of quarter sawn white oak were chanting “build something simple, why don’t you!” It honestly took and extra 10 minutes at the table saw and planer to get it made. It’s a knock off of the familiar Woodsmith Shop pattern made from 6/4 stock. Sanded to 150, finished with BLO and poly top coat.
During the finishing phase, it struck me that Jeff does like sushi. Well…. at least I presented the option to him that this was more than a candle holder and flipped it over. I think it would look swell with some unagi or tamagu on it. We shall see.
Thanks for looking!

Nice going Lobro.

Cool, I have made a bunch of them for gifts, people always seem to want them. Nice work on the table as well.

I have a cousin that is going to KU right now.
