I made this frame for an artist who was commisioned to create a painting of a building in Jerome, Arizona. It is made out of hard maple and is 30” x 37”.

I like the frame and the simple lines and tight miters. I also like that you used the “defects” (I don’t think that there are defects in wood) in the to add some character to it and to draw your eye in to it without distracting from the actual painting.

Beautiful piece! I think that a darker frame would have overwhelmed the pastel character of the painting, so Great Choice of wood.
