Gracie is my baby giraffe. Over the years, I tell you the truth that I’ve drilled in my head, “If the house catches on fire, forget the computer- grab Gracie and get out as fast as you can!” She is carved from mahogany and is simply a presence in my home. I love her kind spirit. Although I did put her in a show once, I could never put her up for adoption. It is true to say that you transfer a little of yourself into your work and I know my spirit rests in my Gracie.

She’s a beauty! You can replace a computer much easier than her!
How many children have ridden her?

That’s one of the most beautiful carvings on Lumberjocks. Great job on both the woodworking and artistic work too.

She looks very wise, very kind and just a little puckish. A great companion and confidant, I’m sure.

I was raised in central Pennsylvania- deer country. I had to carved a deer. The deer was carved from red cedar and the antlers are tupelo. It was really a challenge to get those antlers just right, but they look pretty good.
