Chester is gone. Hit by a car. He was out on his morning walk with Joy and her friends. Joy crossed the street with him and took him off the leash so he could run into the bush with the other dogs. He spotted some thing and ran back onto the street and was hit by a car. He ran back to Joy, to where he was safe, and died in her arms. Miss him terribly.
We snatched him from death, two days before the city was going to put him down. He paid us back infinitely, a sweeter dog you will never meet, but he had to go I guess.
You should have met him. He was a bad dog, a street dog. He started uncountable fights with other dogs. He was the best dog…ever.
Took along time to build the box. Used the birdseye from our old family table. I resawed ALOT of it and just stared. Was a bit blurry as I pushed the saws and planes.

Sorry to hear about your loss. It is a nice remembrance piece you’ve created. The figure is really fantastic.

Beautiful box, but such a sad story. My pets are my kids so I know how you feel.

So sorry for your loss. Some folks just don’t get the attachment we develop with our pets. But I understand. Had our Yorkie die in my arms several years ago. Still miss that little toad chasing, soccer-playing little yapper.

The love you felt for your friend was expressed well in such a beautiful box.

So sorry for your loss. I can imagine it must have been hard to build this but now you have a wonderful urn to remember your best friend by. You did a great job on this, I just hate the circumstances of your project.

They have a wonderful way to touch our hearts and leave such fantastic memories when they are gone. I have had several dogs in my life that have left me with their unique memories. I know Chester has left you with these as well. Beautiful urn.
