I started getting inspired by all the home made tools that other LJs out there have posted and made this wood mallet. It was a long over due project as I needed one desperately for my wood handled chisels. It is turned from a laminated blank of red oak and walnut for the head and the handle tenon fitting into the head is secured by a walnut wedge. I finished the mallet with polyurethane and then found a old pair of boots I no longer wear and cut a a couple of leather faces and glued them in place to protect the head and my chisel handles.

Looks great! What kind of glue did you use on the leather?
