My first table made in the year 2000 for a woodworking class I attended.
The horse picture was free from a scrollsawing forum.
The table is made from one piece of Beech, it does however look like birch?, cannot remember the name of the wood.
The inlay was stained resin.
The size was determined by the offcut of wood I aquired from a local woodyard, I used every last bit of it.
The finish was hours and hours of polishing with wax, it was like toching glass when I finished.

The picture was taken in 2007, there is no wax finish left, it wasn’t until I got them that I discovered my sister had been cleaning the table with furniture polish, and she wondered why it was stained when she spilled beetroot juice on it.
I was very happy with the table, however, I was dissapointed when the examiner said he prefered a varnished finish on tables.
