Like it says “listening center” for my S.I.L. ’s 2nd grade class. It is a box for a 8 way headphone splitter, 8 headphones, and a portable cd player. It is based on a design she found online, with an added cubby hole for papers in the back. The wood is Tulip Poplar (Ive heard that the colors in poplar are “unattractive” I disagree ). 100% hand tools. All M&Ts and Dovetail joints, the only metal fasteners are in the pywood base. You can tell by the gaps this is a first for me, so go easy ;)

nice project; the title of it made me think that it was some sort of box that you put your students into.

This is a great box and a good part of that is because the only interesting poplar is colored IMHO. Nice that you would show the off joint right beside the good one. It’ll have many years of good service.

CJ- thanks again!

Rob- Thanks, Im sure she would prefer to stick a couple of the students in a box.

Gene- We are on the same wavelength about the color. Thanks for the words.

Have your say...
