Finish my nightstand project! My first time doing anything with mortise and tenon, and my first time really making any furniture for the house that wasn’t a cabinet. They are red oak with maple runners. yes red oak, WAH. I like the look of it, and I’m just starting out and not about to lay down big money on crazy lumber.
More pictures and whatnot on my blog posts about them.

I had a good time. And I already got the lumber for our bed that will match.

It’s a very handsome job and in red oak, will probably outlive you. I like the workmate pvc roller too;)

thanks! oh those rollers are metal. not sure where i found them, but i know i FOUND them and they were free. the workmate was a hand me down.
Yes, I don’t think much wrong with red oak either (especially considering the cost with the fact it’s a hardwood and look pretty good to me.) But the way some people talk on this board you’d think red oak was compressed rabbit dung or something.
