My first woodworking project. $150 in tools and about $30 in materials yielded two picture rails, each six feet in length. Completed one end-to-end on a Saturday as a prototype, and a second the following day. The latter came out much nicer, and faster.

Hey, is the dog in the picture the same one walking around with the ball?

LOL! I know how you feel and welcome to Lumberjocks…I think my first pen cost about $600….congrats on the shelf.

Great idea and execution for a photo shelf. Looks like you started out like everone else. Before long you’ll have a garage or basement full of tools. Love the dog and the dog painting too!

@Vicki Thanks! I wish this site allowed more than 6 pictures, so I could show more details of the execution. I’m anxious to get more tools too… If only I had a garage or basement!
