We finally made it down to NC with some time to work on the leafs for the table. These weren’t to damaged so the removal of the finish went pretty smooth. Used a cabinet scraper to bring it down to the beautiful walnut and mahogany end strip. Added some dye to make the colors even and then 4 coats of lacquer
It looks pretty and even matches the rest of the table.

nicely done. repair, reuse, recycle… can’t go wrong with that… and it looks really good.

I know this is beyond late, but thanks. This winter, I was again in North Carolina and putting the leafs in her table and I checked under the bed where they are kept and there was another undone leaf.
