My brother and his wife wanted some place for their 3 kids to put coats, shoes, bookbags, baseball gloves, etc. so they don’t end up all over the place. I told them that I’d put it on the list, (a long list). He asked me how to move it up the list, and I suggested a couple hours of him helping me clean up and reorganize my shop. So I put this together in a couple hours, after he helped me move some heavy stuff around for a couple hours. Good trade! It is made of 3/4 oak ply with an oak face frame and hardwood tape to cover the exposed ply edges. The 4’ lower unit has a shelf one foot high, and the 2’ tall upper unit has a shelf also. It is put together with pocket screws, and has a 1/4 inch ply backing held on with finish nails. I installed hooks on each side of each tall cubby to hang coats, etc. My brother and his wife are going to finish it themselves with some one step stain/poly.

That’s my wife playing Vanna White in picture 2. Pic 3 is the lower unit only before the back was installed.

Nice project! When Family discovers you are willing and able to build nifty things, there will never be a shortage of projects.

Vanna is doing a great job too.
