Here’s a Quarter Sawn White Oak Vanity. The doors are linen fold carvings with touch latches. The lower center panel removes to get to the piumbing. The top portion was routed out and the diamonds were inserted after. The back ground was stippled by using a #2 nail set.
The finish is dye stain with a heavy glaze and waxed.
This goes to the same job as my last post of the carvings. Been working on this house for 3 years or so now. They have a move in date of October. And we have a lot left to do, including 13 more carvings.
I’m taking up this vanity and the carvings to the job tomorrow. Everyone cross your fingers and maybe even your toes. I’m a little nervous about the carvings. Just hope they like them.
Once again thanks for looking!
Have fun woodworking!

Les -
If the devil ever offers me a deal, I’m bargaining my soul for your carving abilities. Way more useful than a fiddle tune. What a great looking piece.

Les, it looks like it could have come out of an old English Manor House. Superb!

Les,
If your client isn’t absolutely delighted, we can find room for any of your work right here!
Is that October move-in date going to give you enough time to give all your LJ fans personalized tours? LOL
The work on this vanity is outstanding and very unique. Do you design these pieces, collaborate with the architect/designer, or is the owner dictating the design?
Don’t be nervous! Your work is second-to-none!
