I just got my new Excalibur 21” scroll saw today. There’s also a blog post about it. This is a free Steve Good pattern. It seemed like something nice I could do out of some scrap plywood I had laying about the garage. I LOVE my new saw. It’s a tremendous difference to go from a Harbor Freight saw to an Excalibur. The sides of the chair were stack cut. I didn’t use any extra plywood for blow out prevention. The chair is actually built from the cheap plywood I usually use for just that!

The chair is finished with food-grade mineral oil and beeswax. I’m of the belief all toys, even those not intended for young children, should have a food-grade finish just in case.

Plus, it turns out the sheep toy I knitted for a knit-along on last July fits perfectly in this chair. I guess I won’t have sheep legs dangling across the TV screen anymore! My sheepy knitter finally has a comfy knitting chair.
