So I made this one day prior to my Drum Major audition. It is made of this bamboo I got near a river. took a knife, selected the best ones…a year later after being dried out, I took 2 bamboo sticks with me to school and during lunch I proceeded to the band saw to cut them…first one :XD: I messed up….
the second one I cut the end to a 30* angle to the blade
and cut the other end to a tapered end…...then I rough sanded it and sanded it using a spindle sander…....after that I balanced it out to be equilibrated at the mid point of the blade and hilt.

you can see it balanced here. it has a tung oil finished and I have no idea how that worked!

I made this……....2 hours…. XD

Nice job on the baton. You’ll appreciate it more every time you use it because you made it yourself!!
