Had a customer who couldn’t choose between the Pirate set and one of the musical themed chess sets so…..
Here’s the Jolly Roger Band Chess Set. Its a blast to play on!!! Kings about 6.5” tall…Jolly Roger pawns about 2.5” tall (the pawns took longer to make then the playing pieces did). Chess board about 25” square. Maple and Walnut for both board and pieces.
Got an order for probably the strangest set yet (this one will be fun). tentatively called “The Attack from Mars Chess Set”...the board is a flying saucer…pieces too funny to describe. All this business is getting in the way of the Heaven versus Hell Set (I think the most creative set yet). Then there’s the Lumberjocks Chess Set to do…
Hands are killing me…life is good.
Thanks for taking a peek!
Jim

Kasparov, Fischer, Karpov, Anand … you name a GM who wouldn’t want to play on that and I say there goes a man with no sense of style or humor. Great set.

How about a Star Wars set, with Luke and Leia as white king and queen, Darth Vader and the emperor as the black, etc?
Then there’s aStar Trek set, with the gang from the original show on one side and the Next Generation crew on the other?
A buddy of mine in the Air Force had a travel set with military ranks sent into disks with magnets underneath ans a veneer covered metal sheet for the board. One you got used to the ranks, it was fun to use.

This set is TOO COOL! Gotta get a board put together so me and the oldest daughter can play checkers without needing forceps to grab the pieces.

You have really got some superb skills, both technical and creative. This is the most desirable chess set I have ever seen in my 40 years on this Earth. The canon is simply too much!

Wonderful set Jim. It sounds like your future projects are all mapped out. I can think a lot of chess players would give their right arm for a theme set like this.
