Maple Burl Bowl

Made from maple burl, the form of this bowl was kept simple to highlight the grain with a broad, flat interior. The black rim was burned with shavings during burnishing, and the bowl was finished with Formby’s Tung Oil Finish.

Robert, that is one very beautiful bowl, you have treated this piece of timber with the respect it diserved.

That is a beautiful grain pattern in that burl, I always love the work you do Robert!
