Pin Oak Natural Edge Bowl

I won a piece of Pin Oak at one of the Front Range Woodturner meeting and this is what came out a nice natural edge bowl it is 3”deep by 8”across, finished with a food safe salad bowl finish.All comments and questions welcome.

Very cool. That gives me an idea for a piece of Alaskan black cottonwood that is oblong. Thanks for sharing!!!

Pretty tough to sand wasn’t it? Whirring blades! Scary sound when working close isn’t it? You did a fine job and hope you busted no knuckles!

Nice job Roper, being pin oak you probably got away whithout any CA to hols the bark!
Now take it back next week for “the table” & see if you can score a first :))

This a great little dish, I really like the shape and size. The grain structure is very pretty!! Overall I’d give it a 10!!
