Built-in Kitchen Cabinet

Picture #2 shows the corner to the left of our woodburning cookstove before building in the cabinet. We just never used the A/C so decided to take it out and build in the cabinet. Pix #3 shows the project in process. Th counter top is made of left over oak flooring. Photo #4 is of the cabinet, looking down. I stood on a chair to take the pix. The top was finished with a couple of applications of walnut oil. Picture #5 is a close up of the top—the flash washed it out some so it looks lighter than it actually is. No. 6 is just another view of the completed cabinet. This unit was built to match the kitchen island I made a few weeks ago. You can check that out at

Beautifully done. Love that oak flooring for the counter top. Those doors look old fashioned in one way yet so modern in another. I don’t know what that means, it’s meant as a compliment. Love the island you made, very cool. Very nice kitchen overhaul.
