Yes I am a geek lol
This is my very first scroll saw project. I just picked up a new saw yesterday and decided to make this
for anyone that doesnt know, this is the symbol the galactic empire (bad guys) use on their uniforms/helmets/ships/etc in the Star Wars movies (at least the ones that matter) i decided to make a drink coaster out of one!
its made of hard maple with poly and wax
i did this free hand just looking at a picture because i didnt have a printer to enlarge the image. next time i am going to use the printer at work to make a pattern. the curves were really hard to get right. might need to use a different blade as well.
i might make a set with a few different other star wars emblems.

That’s really awesome. Great idea, and it looks to me like good work with the scroll saw too. Someday I’ll have to try my hand at scrolling – there are just way too many cool ideas that I see. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Mike, for a first project, I think you are doing great. I don’t know if you can use the Force to help with the “Bad Guy’s” emblem. Love to see the next project.

Kudos from a fellow Star Wars geek on both on an awesome idea and an excellent execution!
Now time for a rebel insignia…

What do you mean “bad guys”??? Good and Bad depends on your point of view :)
Oh, nice job too.
