This past February my first grandchild was born. Like my father before me, my son and I are lifelong Cubs fans. And when I heard that for a fee the Cubs will put the newborn’s birth information up on the marquee and send me a picture of it, along with a certificate, and some newborn clothing, I was all over it. The baseball was present when my grandson was born, and my son asked the nurse to put the baby’s footprints on it when they did his birth certificate. I made the oak moulding out of lumber that I had milled last year from a tree from the property where I grew up, where my dad taught me to play baseball.

Now that is cool! The little one is already part of history!
Way to go!

Hey Hey, Woodfella,

As a big Cubs fan from Northern Illinois (grayslake) or FIB, I have to say this is very cool!

I had no idea Wrigley Field offered this wonderful way to introduce your Grandson to Chicago baseball, A family tradition. The foot prints are classic!

I love that you also used wood from your “memories”. It makes the project all come together to create a great story that will bring a smile to many, especially me. Good job! Thank you.

Go Cubs Go….Go Cubs Go….Hey Chicago, Whatta you say?....The Cubs are gonna win today!

Hopefully that little Cubs fan will witness a ring …. or be part of winning a ring. Nice work on the project!
