As I have posted before, the Texas Red Oak in our back yard is dead. I will have it cut down soon but in the mean time I have been taking branches out of it and creating wood projects. I had made the bird house part of this for Amy, our daughter. I did not have time to complete it to this detail however I have lots of wood left to make more projects. I had heard a hint from my wife that she would like something made from the tree, also. So today I put together this bird house version. It measures 2 1/2 inches tall and the bird is one inch long. The base it is sitting on is a piece of trimmed bark from one of the branches. Hope she likes it and the cat does not see it.
