I put this table together using scrap pine in a “French Provincial” style.
Full mortise and tenon frame construction.
One of the peices of timber I used for the top had a fairly big split in it. Instead of filling / gluing, I decided to try my hand at “bow tie” inlays. Fairly happy with how they came out.
The top is stained oak and finished with 3 coats of oil based satin poly.
The base has two coats of water based interior paint (colour matched to some existing furniture) which has been sanded back for distressed look, then 3 coats of water based satin poly.

Nice table Boneski! We built a similar style coffee table a while ago. We added a shelf that was inset into the legs for extra living room storage. Great work!
