I made this little funky box out of some scrap wood that was laying around. The idea was make something different for my wife for mothers day. Well I think I accomplished the “different” part of the project! I used anything & everything I had laying around. Purpleheart, maple, yellowheart, wenge, bloodwood, padauk, walnut & some other wood I don’t know what it is. It is the size of a dollar bill and about an inch & 3/4” high. I think my wife will like it though. Thanks to lumberjocks projects postings for some great ideas that I borrowed for this with my own personal twist. I have so far applied 3 coats of tung oil on it, I think about 3 more & I’ll call it good. I used some rare earth magnets in the corners to keep the lid closed. I went nuts with the plugs experimenting. The last picture was what I started with, I added some maple & some more different kinds of wood. Well thanks for checking out my latest project. Remember, it”s always good to make a little saw dust than nothing at all !!!

I like it. It shows off all kinds of differnet wood and the colors bring it interest. Nice work on the plugs they’re very tight and well done. Well done.
