I created this piece a while back as an outgrowth of some boxes I had made and a need for a larger attention getting piece for an art show I was exhibiting in. The center strip was created by gluing a block of many contrasting woods and then cutting several think strips at an angle from it and then regluing that together to form the feather shapes. The S shaped curves were formed by cutting the piece in two and then regluing with a light colored venner sandwiched in between. After the glue dried this was repeated for the second curve. The frame is just mitred oak with cherry keys for visual contrast and strength.

Fun project. Hope to do some more. I think on a future one I will book end a board for the two side pieces, esp. if I can find one with an interesting grain pattern.

Nice and light like a dance.
Really fine work.
Best thoughts,
