This is a late post for a late gift. These are Christmas/Hanukkah presents for my parents, which I didn’t finish until February due to a back injury.
The picture frame is Cherry, Maple, and Purple Heart—laminated, routed, mitered, and then joined (face frame biscuits). I made two, and you’re looking at the better one.
The plaque is Maple and Purple Heart. There’s a central block, then a frame of PH, and then a frame of Maple. I drilled holes centered in the corners with a Forster bit. After a bit of routing, it’s looking pretty fancy. My Dad requested this after he saw the brand that I designed.
Thanks for looking!

My favorite combination of woods – they look awesome and very similar to a cross I recently made. I have extra material and planned on making a frame as well – now it will seem as thought I borrowed the idea from you! ;-)
