Cute, but how about a small (contrasting) knob as a handle/eye ?

Very good. A suggestion ~ incorporate a hidden compartment in the solid section on the left side?

There is a hole drilled in the back to push the drawer out.
Actually, I considered the eye to be the suttle knot at the bottom, and the mouth to the the entry cut.
Maybe I see too much! ;-)

3 day project? ~ I see Jonah escaped.

Nice work – love the use of the grain for the eye. Many people miss using the lins in the wood to accent. Krenov was good at incorporating the grain, too.
