I glued together (three) 2” thick pieces of Bubinga that were 5 1/8” long.
I then cut off the 2 side pieces and cut the top of the box out.
Next I cut out the top tray and laid it aside.
Next I cut the bottom tray free from the block of wood or what was left of it.
I then cut the side pieces off the 2 trays and cut out the tray parts.
There are 2 slots in the top tray and just 1 large area in the pull out tray that goes in the bottom.
I then cut the 3 slots in the stationary tray that is under the top tray. (Wow), enough trays in this project.
Next I sanded and glued it all back together. I pinned the lid and made sure it opened freely and finished it with 4 coats of lacquer, sanding between coats with 320 and on the final sanding with #000 steel wool and then Johnson’s paste wax.
Also I put a piece of self adhesive felt in the bottom for the drawer to slide on.
The hardware is from Hobby Lobby.

Thanks for looking.

-- Chuck

A real beaut you made. You really made that Bubinga scream at you. Love the handles/knobs.

Looks simple, but very cool. Will have to try it.

That is one of the nicest band saw boxes I’ve seen. Good work.

Certainly not your ordinary bandsaw box. Very nice indeed.

Very “most excellent” band-saw box!! I will have to tackle this type myself.

Charles, you took “out of the box thinking” to a higher level. Well done!
