I made this out of salvage from an old picket fence, topped new posts with pineapple finials…...I made one for my yard, this one is for sale. Really enjoyed the project, and have found I love my time in the shop! (if any of you have wondered why Andy hasn’t posted anything lately, it’s cuz I have taken over the shop!)

Looks really GOOD!

Did you make a jig of some sort to get those ends cut so nice & even?

Are you going to make it a Gate?

You’re having F U N !

@Joe, Thanks! I didn’t make a jig, I measured the pickets, cut them to the length I wanted at the bottom, then layed them upside down on two pipe clamps, put 1/4” spacers in, lined the bottom up with my work table edge, used a squared to get them at a 45 degree angle with the edge of the table, (tightened the clamps when I got that right), then layed out my cross pieces and screwed the pickets to the cross pieces from the back. (WHEW…..very long incorrect sentence!) (oh, yeah, I had also previously gave the pickets a quick coat of watered down white paint.) Would be extremely easy for someone with more skill, but even for me was pretty easy and fun and the result was just what I wanted!

Great use of the old fence. I think my mom would really like something like this. Mind if I use your idea? Even though Andy hasn’t been in the shop, there’s still great projects rolling out the doors!
