I like the idea of the Skil XBench, and some of it’s features, but I figured I could make something similar for less money.
I used a sheet of 3/4” plywood and 2 2×4’s to create it. It has a channel in the middle for cross-cutting. It also has a router insert for my porter-Cable router.
The legs are just 2×4’s that fit in pockets I made in the corners. They slide in and out for quick take-down and set-up.

I like this concept. I really like the removable portion for cross-cutting. Do you have a way to set up a fence for your router?
I really like this. Thanks for posting.

The piece of MDF in the pictures I just clamped to the bench for an “initial” fence for the router. I may work toward something a little fancier.

Love that this is a “knock-down” piece. I’ve found another project to tackle! Thanks for sharing.
