Built originally as a dining room table for a single bedroom apartment…now a coffee table for a three bedroom house. Single piece of mahogony crotch (30” x 48”)...leftover from peeling veeners from the face. I couldn’t pass it up.

NEEDS SOME TUNG OIL BAD!!!!!!!

The floor in the background is yellow birch with discarded american cherry as the large inlay….can you believe that blond in cherry is undesirable? Blonds undesirable HA!

Great looking piece of mahogany! You’re right, it could use some finishing.

All—I preffer to use my stuff as you can tell…no coasters in this house…its built to be lived in…building a new shop and other projects have much higher priority than refinishing existing projects altough they do deserve some love. My wife gets upset because six years ago she sanded that top up to 600 by hand and it was marvelous for some time….

The table is going to look great and I was admiring the floors. They look very much like our hickory ones.

Yellow birch and American Cherry with lots of sap wood. Blondes add character.
