These are just a few ways in wich I have started to incoperate Deer antler into my projects. On sum of my candy dishes I used it as the handle, As the back stop for my pen holders And you can definatly make pens, pencils, winebottle toppers, braclet helpers, letter openers, I have also use them as door handles for cabnets. The best was to get horn is to go look for sheads, or if in a pinch a lot of times hunting stores Have sheads for sale as rateling antlers. I think its a lot like wood becuse they need to dry as well, they srink as they dry so I dont use them for about a year. I russed some pens and with in a year they had cracked. just think of it as very hard wood, it will dull your tools a littel faster than wood. But it sands and buffs out nice. The best part is two pices are never to same, and they all have a lot of caricter. I like to try to leave some natural edge on them it adds to the look, not to say a pen that dosnt have any isnt cool becuse they are.
