Here is an Air Force First Sergeant Retirement Shadowbox. I tried to incorporate everything to the diamond shape. The edges of the wood are cut to points to also emphasize the diamond. It’s solid oak with a natural stain. Not bad for 6 hours of work, start to finish, from scratch. Thanks for Looking!

Hats off to all the men and women in uniform – past, present and veterans!

Thanks for sharing.

A terrific piece. Any significance in the diamond?

Nice concept and execution!

brianinpa, the diamond in Air Force rank insignia is only worn by First Sergeants. A 1st sgt (or “first shirt” or “shirt”) is the guy/gal in a squadron who is responsible for morale, discipline and “care and feeding.” He/she is the commander’s enlisted counterpart.
